About the Position
The Executive Assistant works under limited direction to provide high-quality support and advice to the Ambassador and general support to the Embassy as required. This includes managing the Ambassador’s daily program and is key in establishing meetings with Mexican political, government and private sector network contracts. The position manages and contributes to high level official events and senior official visits. Working with the Public Diplomacy Officer the position also provides support for large scale events. This position is required to work outside of normal business hours.
This position requires a probity check to be completed. Employment in the advertised position is dependent on the employee having or acquiring a valid DFAT probity check. Probity checks can take some time to process, and employment cannot be commenced until an appropriate check is confirmed. There is no guarantee that the successful candidate for the position will be successful in obtaining a probity check. The inability to obtain a probity check prevents that applicant from being employed and loss of a probity check at any time will lead to termination of employment.
In addition, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires all local employees, Mexican nationals or foreigners to obtain accreditation in order to perform work services for foreign entities and International Organizations. The accreditation will be requested by the Embassy once the successful candidate is identified.

About the Position
The AFP requires a bilingual Policy Advisor/Program Coordinator for a full-time position, under the direction of the AFP Senior Officer, to support the small AFP team in Mexico City. The AFP Mexico is also responsible for Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. The role requires frequent travel within its countries of responsibility, sometimes at short notice.
